Bio
Samuel Price is the Democratic candidate for South Carolina House District 99, which covers Cainhoy, Daniel Island and Hanahan in Berkeley County. He grew up in Lexington and moved to Charleston at 15. He worked his way through the College of Charleston, where he studied computer science, and wrote software for the nursing college at MUSC that is still in use. He is a senior technical lead at Boeing, where he leads multiple software teams, some of them international, and he spent years before that building software on government contracts. He hunts and trains regularly with firearms.
Samuel has called Berkeley County home for the past 15 years and South Carolina for the past 30. Growing up, he helped on his grandparents’ vegetable farm and hunted with his grandfather. He delivered pizzas and packages through college and got to know the back roads of this state and its people. On government contracts, he saw first hand how public money gets spent. He comes from a Republican family. The last two times this seat was on the ballot, it had one name on it. This year it has two. “I’ll read every bill before I vote on it, and you’ll get the truth of the matter in plain English,” Samuel says.
